How do you help your father stop smoking crack without calling the police on him?

my dad is smoking crack and has developed very bad paranoia and scitzophrenia. He lives far away but i am afraid to send him to jail for it.

Well I think this paranoia is caused by doing this drug and schizophrenia is maybe but not really. He’s just hallucinating and will go away when he decides to stop. Hopefully soon because it can eventually kill. Lets hope not.

I think you should have a serious talk with him. Let him know how you feel and maybe he’ll stop. It’s going to be hard but always show your support. Give him an ultimatum …to get help if not then stop talking to him. I think when a person hits rock bottom they realize their problem. I was once addicted and actually stopped because I overdosed and god gave me a second chance. Hopefully he does get his act together and wish you the best. Good luck

What should I do when my boyfriend wont stop smoking crack!?!?

It’s going on 8 months now and he wont stop smoking crack. I’ve begged him to stop, cried my eyes out numerous times explaining how everything was going down the drain: bills not getting paid, our relationship getting ruined, ect.. What do I do? He stays up untill 6am everyday getting high. I live in his house. I have no car, no money, no friends, no family. I’m finanical reliant on him. HELP

What should you do??? LEAVE! Even if you have to go stay with family or a friend till you get on your feet and can get your own place you still need to get out from under him! What if he gets busted/raided? Your going down with him! Run girl RUN!

You’re looking at three weeks of pain to get to the pasture on the other side.
Join a support group and stay well clear of people and places that you associate with crack. Tell your boring straight lace friends that you need to hang out with them for a while and why. Plan your day as much as possible to be full of crack free (but still fun)activities. If you have co-workers on coke, ask for a transfer or quit your job.
My city has a 311 city information line that will put you in touch with a rehab center. Or there is the yellow pages under “drug addiction information and treatment”.

Need help to stop smoking crack?

Today I gave up my bank card and all money. Then my mind quit racing. I’ve been on crack for 10yrs, 15 treatment center, have a 12 step sponsor, been with the same therapist 3yr.I’m attending Bible College obtained Assoc Degree, at University of Michigan junior, Crash a multi million dollar business, went to prison for 18mos for drug use, divorsesd ex couldn’t take it any more, have slept in empty houses, now I have my own apt. But I can’t stop the cravings. I have 3 days clean today, I want to use so bad, but im not because I removed all money and gave my house keys and car to a friend. I dont know any drug dealer who will come out for free. Tonight i feel free.

I have no experience with crack, but I do with other addictive drugs, so I’ll just take those experiences and magnify them 1,000 times… #1) Be proud of yourself. The rest of your life starts now. You can make your future much better than your past. #2) Your body is craving crack but YOU are not your body. People have out of body experiences and remember things when they were brain-dead because they are NOT their bodies.

Still, how our bodies feel affects our mood greatly so I’d recommend deep breathing, meditation, and other things that can get you in touch with your body and feel better. I remember going to a Zen Center once and the meditation was *honestly* much better than narcotics (even when they were at their best). Our minds are capable of much more than we know. Unfortunately, I often fall back into bad mental habits instead of feeling the aware, alive, euphoria I can create on my own.

Enjoy your freedom. Even if you’re feeling awful physically, SMILE because at least this is real freedom and it will get better and better. Addiction is bondage and leads nowhere but down and down and down. Keep going up!

do crack smokers ever stop?

How likely will it by for my friend to stop smoking crack? I love him he can be so awsome! but when he drinks/smokes crack he steals/likes cheats . He gets down right abusive like the devil takes over his body! Should I stay his friend and help him quit or cut my losses and move on?

I had a similar situation with my brother. He smoked and drank in my house. Stole my wife’s jewelry, got caught, cut his wrist, and turned the knife on me. He is now looking at prison time (17 arrests 15 yrs) I still love him, and wish the very best for him. Sadly he can no longer be in my life. I can not forgive and foget, as the rest of my family has. That would be condoning his behavior, he is 36yrs old. I can not help him, only enable him, this is something he has to handle on hos own. You’re desire to help your friend is noble, but the only way you might be able to help is by walking away. As you are aware, crack heads are unpredictable, be careful.
